Duties to include but not limited to:
Broad working knowledge of all banking, treasury, accounting procedure, policies to include regulations, practices, procedures, and policies concerning the receipt, disbursement and accountability of funds. Knowledge of a wide variety of interrelated steps, conditions, procedures or processes required to assemble, review, and maintain complex fiscal transactions. Knowledge of handbooks, and other financial regulations, laws, and requirements related to agent cashier/teller operations. Knowledge of Beneficiary Travel System and able to answer payment questions. Knowledge and skill in the use of computer equipment with a wide variety of software such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Knowledge of the negotiability, validity and genuineness of cash items. Knowledge of automated financial system to reconcile errors that require an understanding of nonstandard procedures. Ability to analyze work requirements and determine resources, equipment and other needs to accomplish work assignments. Provides the customer with consistent information according to established policies and procedures. Handles conflict and problems in dealing with the customer constructively and appropriately. Balances funds daily. Reviews documents for acceptability, mathematical accuracy and completeness. Knowledge of debit and credit principles of each disbursement or collection in order to perform accurate accounting functions. Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, custody, and other clerical processing of cash items such as direct handling of the cash items and use of cash accountability control methods. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

The work is mainly sedentary and is performed in an office setting. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
