Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but not limited to the following:
Review, analyze, and verify submitted data for consistency, with financial and program objectives, adherence to eligibility-related directives Reviews data provided and determines if data is usable for entry into the appropriate database and/or compiling into reports. Assess Veteran eligibility to determine the need for Hardship programs Utilize data entry programs specific to the Health Eligibility Center (HEC) to input data for registrations. Provide customer service while assisting veterans with forms Interview veterans to verify Tricare eligibility Utilize data entry programs to specific to the Health Eligibility Center Utilize a multitude of software platforms for verification purposes Work Schedule:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-05 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-04. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note:

Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of pertinent eligibility and enrollment laws, regulations, policies, guidelines, and procedures to determine veterans eligibility for care:
input data from documents into appropriate database; provide financial guidance, to applicants based on means and co-pay test; and explain eligibility information to applicant; extensive knowledge of programs to track and properly notify insurance-authorized recipients (dependents of veterans) for eligibility determination; knowledge and experience in the field of patient administration (both inpatient and outpatient) including medical records and related fields of medical administration, especially related to any Health Administration Service programs, to utilize databases to review documentation and history; review records to ensure has consult scheduled; knowledge of a variety of database systems, in order to track and monitor veteran information; enter data into appropriate databases; and compile and review data for monthly reports, spreadsheets, and local documents; thorough knowledge of the organizational and interdepartmental relationship of an active acute Medical Center to gather information; to facilitate the exchange of information ; and to provide exceptional customer service; thorough knowledge of the registration process, entering a means test, and updating demographics; thorough working knowledge of other computer systems necessary to manage, control, secure, coordinate, and implement computer activities; must demonstrate knowledge of standard and business English usage and proper formatting of formal correspondence in response to inquiries, reports, audits, etc; ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a variety of people from different backgrounds and different levels of understanding in order to respond to questions and inquiries in written correspondence and face-to-face with veterans; knowledge of laws and regulations in regards to eligibility for healthcare benefits. Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have successfully completed 4 years above high school (Transcript Required) OR, Combination:
Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education beyond the second year. Education is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. . You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
