Housekeeping Aid
Cleans and maintains various kinds of floor, wa11,'carpet, and ceiling surfaces such as wood and linoleum. Removes stains from a variety of surfaces using chemicals and cleaning solutions. Operates powered cleaning equipment such as wall washers along with industrial-type buffers, vacuums, and auto floor scrubbers. Adjusts and performs minor maintenance on such equipment. Occasionally works on ladders and scaffolds to clean ceiling fixtures, wash walls, replace lightbulbs, moving of furniture and perform similar tasks. Work Schedule:

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note:
A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Moves and controls heavy powered cleaning equipment (e.g. wall washers, industrial type buffers). Occasionally exerts moderately heavy physical effort such as would be required in lifting and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds (e.g., moving, setting up and working from ladders and scaffolds). Frequently works indoors in areas that have adequate heat, light, and ventilation. Occasionally exposed to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions used in stripping floors, etc. and to serious injuries (e.g. broken bones from falls from ladders and scaffolds.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
