As a Supervisory Communications Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Supervise Federal Staff, oversee contractor staff, and conduct communications goal development and performance management. Oversee writing and editing services, content development, social media, outreach and education to increase the organization's visibility before key external audiences and build awareness of organization science and services. Oversee visual communications/graphic design services and ensure graphic designs work meet the visual communication needs of the organization in support of organizational visibility and awareness. Develop relationships across the organization to create organization-wide communication plans and regularly report on the status of communication and outreach activities. Coordinate communication support for organizational user engagement efforts and contribute to plans to improve user engagement. Provide communication advice and guidance to organizational leadership. Experience:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the ZA-4 or GS-13 level:

Experience:
Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZA-3 or GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Recommending or developing communication strategies to reach target audiences in order to increase a science or environmental organization's visibility and awareness; Developing communication products or services designed to increase awareness of environmental sciences; and Using project management skills related to science communication activities.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
