Summary:
Provides quality and process improvement support utilizing Lean Six Sigma and Change Management methodologies in the form of training, facilitation of, and project management for improvement projects, as well as leadership in facilitation, data stewardship, data analytics, Lean management/standard work, and implementation of evidence based clinical pathways across Mission Health System. Provides Ad hoc consultation to improvement project teams and their leaders/sponsors, learners, to divisional and departmental leaders, and to quality or operational committees across MHS. Will work with all levels of leadership and front line staff throughout Mission Health System including practice/department/division chairs, administrators, desk supervisors, physicians, nurses, secretarial staff, resident groups, desk staff, and all levels of allied health professionals throughout the system.
The Quality Improvement Advisor II is differentiated from the Quality Improvement Advisor I in depth and breadth of experience and capability in the realm of performance improvement. The Quality Improvement Advisor II is expected to be able to operate and be successful in undertaking the following with less instruction and direction from management than the Quality Improvement Advisor I and is expected to be able to operate and be successful in managing projects and training assignments of increased complexity, ambiguity, criticality, and scope, while balancing a larger portfolio of projects, educational assignments, and ad hoc consulting engagements than is expected of the Quality Improvement Advisor I.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in one of the following fields: Engineering, Nursing, Business Administration (with quality/operations emphasis), Healthcare Administration, Organizational Development, Human Factors or similar fields.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in one of the following fields: Engineering, Nursing, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration.
Required
Experience: Seven years of relevant experience, with specific emphasis in: continuous improvement, customer service, systems analysis, working with outside consultants, group leadership and facilitation, interpersonal communication, team building, or Masters degree in same fields plus four years of relevant experience. Holding a current Black Belt certification from an accredited agency can be used in lieu of 2 years of work experience. Personal computer (Microsoft Office) knowledge and proficiency. Knowledge of management principles and techniques, problem-solving methodologies and analytical techniques. Knowledge of basic statistics, data analysis, and graphical display of information. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Other required abilities: critical thinking, flexibility, ability to serve as a change agent, ability to provide encouragement and to stimulate innovative thinking under adverse conditions and short deadlines.
Preferred
Experience: Strongly prefer candidates with a healthcare background. In-depth understanding of human relations, group dynamics, change theory, and Lean Six Sigma improvement methodologies.
