Job Summary : Provides organized, evidence based care to the patient and patient population with sepsis focusing on health promotion and disease prevention. Functions as a clinical expert and educator and coordinates sepsis care management to promote optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for the identification and analysis of evidence-based protocols or bundles used for the treatment of sepsis . Documents the planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of sepsis patients. Serves as a sepsis-focused educator, clinical expert, and leadership consultant to all appropriate hospital staff and to the larger community. Ensures compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines and other regulatory agencies, as appropriate. Performs other related duties as required .

Foster professional performance and influence healthcare initiatives to generate positive patient outcomes. Upholds professional standards of nursing practice as determined by the NCBON, the specialty practice organization that represents the practice area and the American Nurses Association Standards for Nursing Professional Development (2010). Required Education: Master's Degree in Nursing
Preferred Education: MN, MSN, DNS, or PhD in Nursing; Certification in specialty area by recognized national nursing organization; North Carolina Board of Nursing CNS recognition
Required License: Current licensure as Registered Nurse with North Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state as defined by NC Board of Nursing
Preferred License: National certification as a clinical nurse specialist

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of recent clinical nursing experience in designated or related specialty
Preferred
Experience: Preferred experience in emergency medicine, cardiac services or intensive care. Effective speaker before large and small groups. Proven ability to work autonomously and in collaboration with other health care providers, students, instructors, and leaders.
