The position of an ACT Co-occurring Disorders Counselor calls for a licensed clinician with direct experience and skill in treating people with mental health and substance use challenges. The position includes active engagement and motivational interviewing with people in various stages of change.
Pay:
$52,000-$65,000

The Position:
We're looking for Substance Use Therapists
  • Pay range:
    is $52,000 to $65,000 based upon experience and licensure
  • Bonus:
    $3000
  • Schedule:
    we are hiring for full time, salaried positions with some on call hours


Responsibilities:

  • Participation on an interdisciplinary team of professionals providing person centered services in the community
  • Providing stage wise individual and group substance recovery counseling in a variety of settings
  • Working with individuals in all stages of change to develop harm reduction and recovery plans as it relates to their goals.

  • Facilitating relationships and serving as a link between the treatment team, the individual, natural supports, guardians, local agencies and the community
  • Minimizing the negative effects of substance use and mental health that interferes with the individual's daily living and personal development
  • Working with an interdisciplinary team in providing the individual the development of various skill-building activities, including daily and community living skills, socialization skills, adaptation skills, and behavior and anger management especially as it relates to substance use and recovery
  • Participating in a rotating first responder on-call system available to individuals and/or his/her natural support network

Position Requirements:

  • Valid licensure to provide substance use counseling in the state of North Carolina or Associate license
  • Licenses include LCAS/LCASA or LCMHC/LCSW (or relevant associate level license) and desire to quickly obtain LCASA
  • Prefer 2 years experience working with individuals with mental and/or behavioral health issues
  • General working knowledge of the human services delivery system in North Carolina
  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance and reliable transportation

The Location:
RHA ACT Teams are located in Asheville, NC and serve the Buncombe County

  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
